I apologize for being away for so long but I am back!!! For this weeks post I have decided to share two poems that I wrote. They are about being vegan and animal activism.
Free at Last
Society say’s that you my friend is a necessity
Now I don’t believe all of that because like them and I
You've got two eyes
You walk the walk
You talk your talk
You Laugh, You cry
They sit back and say they care, but do they really?
They cage you
They abuse you
They don’t understand you
They watch lives being lost
No matter the cost
Now I try not to judge or criticize,
but the feelings that are deep inside are just so hard to hide
Why can’t they open their eyes?
Stop being a victim to all the lies
Sometimes you think that they are blind
because they act like they don’t have a mind
At times I want to scream
But all I can do is dream
Dream of a day when we can all say were free at last, free at last
Thank God almighty were free at last
Now Think About That
Come on man, somebody please take a stand!
Your always conversing about racism, classism, sexism, ageism
What about specieism?
You are simply pathetic
Why don’t you ever think about the ethics?
Their exploited over time
They serve as victims to all the crimes
Stop!
Now think about that
It’s morally wrong
Like a persecution in a song
Lives are being taken
While your consuming all that bacon
You don’t see me with
No pork on my fork
No fish on my dish,
No Beef in my teeth,
Or no goat in my throat
Now all I’m asking you to do is try to refrain and
Together we can reduce the pain and
Succeed in making a change
Now think about that!
